Camping Outerwear...Outdoor Clothing For Wilderness Survival
To fully enjoy the outdoor and camping experience, attention to your outerwear is vitally important. Your clothing should serve many functions, depending of course on the activities you have planned. For instance, if your family is just going for the weekend you will plan differently than if you're staying an entire week. Is anyone going hiking, backpacking, or rock climbing? These are the questions you should be asking during your preparations. In general, clothing should be First and foremost comfortable. Wear loose cloths in layers. They should be lightweight, durable, and wind and waterproof. Other functions include breath ability, rapid drying, and insulation. This may be obvious but before wearing any new clothes or shoes and boots, always test drive them before you get in the woods.
The other thing that outerwear should offer is to be functional. In other words, try getting clothing that can be used for more than one purpose. Anytime someone ventures away from the campsite, no matter what the reason, they should have some kind of a utility tool and a survival kit. So it is good to have some form of a vest or belt that has different size pockets, so these items are always with you, or any member of your party. One should never be without this type of outerwear, because you never know when you or a loved one will wander off, and before they know it they're lost.
Not everyone can afford to equip their entire party with a GPS or beacon device, so I have come up with an idea for multi- functional outerwear that is cost effective and could save someone's life. This patent pending concept is available as a belt or vest, and is so cost effective, anyone that backpacks, hikes, rock climbs, and camps, will be able to afford one. In this day and age of electronics, I have devised something that is completely mechanical. There are no batteries or bad reception to worry about. Surviving in the wilderness should never come to mean survival. In this day and age, someone who is lost should only be thinking about being rescued. That is why we need The LifeTracker.
The LifeTracker is a device that in case of an emergency will, with the pull of a cord, jettisons a heavy gauge red balloon attached to a 1000 ft fishing line up high enough for searchers or a rescue plane to see. There is even a solar rope light for night rescues. It is contained in two different multi functional camping gear; The LifeTracker Belt and The LifeTracker Vest. Even if the rescue device is never activated, the gear becomes part of everyday wilderness attire. The LifeTracker makes it possible for people to be found before panic on both sides will ever set in. It not only will save lives, but millions of dollars in search and rescue man hours.
The LifeTracker Belt is...4" wide with pockets on the outside to store a thermal blanket and other survival supplies.
The LifeTracker Vest...Using the same concept as the "Belt" the vest inner side unzips to release a folded lean-to tent complete with telescopic 3 ft poles. Some people will prefer a vest and are willing to pay extra for the complete survival package. This offers a great option, and like the "Belt", is very marketable.
There is also:
The LifeTracker Flare Gun...Flare guns are very expensive and, of course, the flare only has a short life. With a small adjustment to the LifeTracker Device, it can easily be kept in a lightweight pistol, that can be stored in any backpack, vehicle, boat or plane. It might even have military use.
The LifeTracker Series can be manufactured and sold
inexpensively enough so that anyone who camps, hikes, rock climbs, or just ventures into the wilderness, will want to include it as part of their gear. A family of four will be able to completely outfit themselves for the cost of one GPS unit.
Please help my dream come true. Go to: The LifeTracker

About the Author
Jack has always been in love with the outdoors. Now in his late 50's, he lives in California surrounded by meadows and trees. So many people go missing each year, so he has come up with an idea to help find anyone lost in the wilderness, in hours rather than days.
Ideas for a Sign for My Environmental Training Center?
The ENGO I founded in 1993 has an multi purpose ten acre property along a river where we have our office, a simulated African Village where students come for live in camps to participate in environmental technology research for Africa and Canada. We carry out training and research in simple technology development , low and zero cost tree proliferation methology, recycling for all waste products etc etc. We have hosted international researchers, program partners from Africa and hope to host 'Zero Waste Inventors' Conventions' as well.
I am replacing an outdated roadside billboard that identifies the property. I want an appropriate name for the place that is descriptive of what's there yet 'usable' and 'selling'
So far I've come up with:
"Ecology Research and Development Training Center"
Some believe it should have 'international' in the name.
Any votes on this name or can you suggest an alternative name altogether??? Thanks for weighing in.
I'd suggest "Global" (at the start) instead of "international".
Otherwise, sounds good.
